Barefoot....? What is it?
Barefoot shoes are shoes that imitate barefoot walking as much as possible. They are also called minimalist or respectful .
But be careful! We talk about real barefoot shoes only if they satisfy these 5 rules:
1) 👣ANATOMIC SHAPE
Wide toe box where the toes have enough space to be comfortable and spaced out, sole wide enough not to rub and squeeze the foot
2) 🌀THIN AND FLEXIBLE SOLE
It must be possible to fold and roll the shoes easily in all directions
3)➖ FLAT SOLE
No rise or heel
4) 🍃LIGHT
Resistant but lightweight materials
5) ❌WITHOUT RIGID SUPPORTS
No arch, heel or ankle support
Why is it important to make our children wear barefoot shoes and avoid common shoes?
In nature our foot is the first contact with the ground, it supports us and gives us important information about the world around us. The toes bend and grip to allow us to walk, climb, balance and respond quickly to changes in the ground. Like the hands, the feet are also rich in nerve endings and thanks to their development and strength they provide support to all the other joints of the body.
In childhood, in the midst of self-discovery and space-discovery, children must be able to develop the sensitivity and strength of their little feet to the maximum. So imagine what happens inside rigid, heavy and narrow shoes: toes compressed in an unnatural position and a stiffened foot that is unable to perform its natural movements . Common shoes, although often labeled as "first steps", do nothing but hinder the exchange of information in the child's world/brain and slow down the formation of muscles and the arch of the foot. Thus, psychomotor development is compromised, with harmful consequences in adolescence and, if nothing is done, for life.
Then leave your little Geckos walking free, free to play, run, jump and climb anywhere ! With the knowledge that their body was designed for this! So trust nature, without hindering it: it is the most precious gift you can give your children!
